Optimization Design for Steel Trusses Based on a Genetic Algorithm

Steel trusses are widely utilized in engineering structures, and their optimization is essential for enhancing structural performance reducing material consumption. Existing methods steel predominantly rely on the trial-and-error method, which not only inefficient but also inaccurate. Therefore, this study focused of using an efficient accurate methodology. Based a genetic algorithm finite element both mono- multi-parameter designs were executed, applicable design method was established, corresponding programs developed. The analysis demonstrates that proposed effectively optimizes truss height member cross-section, leading to significant reduction Compared traditional exhibits adequate calculation accuracy superior efficiency, thereby providing robust theoretical foundation trusses.
